equipe do Centro Médico da Universidade do Sudoeste do Texas, nos
Estados Unidos, sugere que a desativação de um hormônio pode ser
suficiente para tratar diabetes tipo 1, uma doença autoimune - na qual o
sistema de defesa ataca as células e tecidos do próprio corpo -, que
faz as concentrações de açúcar no organismo ficarem muito altas. A
descoberta será tema de edição de fevereiro da revista especializada
"Diabetes".
Liderados por Roger Unger, professor da instituição e principal autor do artigo científico, os pesquisadores testaram a capacidade de camundongos, cobaias comuns em testes pré-clínicos, aproveitarem o açúcar presente no sangue, fruto da alimentação dos animais.

O medicamento dulaglutide, que será vendido com o nome comercial de Trulicity, é fabricado pelo laboratório Eli Lily and Co. A aprovação do tratamento se baseou em seis estudos feitos com 3 342 pessoas que mostraram que uma injeção da droga por semana, junto com exercícios físicos e dieta adequada, ajuda a controlar a taxa de açúcar no sangue de diabéticos.

Segundo o FDA, o Trulicity pode ser prescrito individualmente ou ser combinado com outros medicamentos já existentes contra o diabetes tipo 2. A doença — Pessoas com diabetes tipo 2 desenvolvem resistência à ação da insulina, hormônio responsável por controlar os níveis de glicose no sangue. A doença pode ser causada por fatores genéticos ou ambientais, como obesidade, sedentarismo e tabagismo, por exemplo. Um levantamento divulgado neste ano pelo Ministério da Saúde mostrou que 6,9% dos brasileiros têm diabetes tipo 2 – em 2005, a prevalência era de 5,5%.

Segundo a definição da Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) de 1948, saúde é “um estado de completo bem-estar físico, mental e social, e não apenas a ausência de doenças”.
Visto que a maioria das pessoas nos países desenvolvidos estariam
doentes caso se aplicasse essa definição, o Escritório Regional Europeu
modificou essa definição para: “…à medida em que um indivíduo ou
grupo é capaz, por um lado, de realizar aspirações e satisfazer
necessidades e, por outro, de lidar com o meio ambiente. A saúde é,
portanto, vista como um recurso para a vida diária, não o objetivo dela;
abranger os recursos sociais e pessoais, bem como as capacidades
físicas, é um conceito positivo”.
Talvez poderia se dizer que a definição originalmente dada pela OMS em 1948 é a que mais se aproxima da verdade, admitindo ou sugerindo que a ausência de doença não define a saúde plena. Poderíamos acrescentar que o estado de saúde é caracterizado pelo equilíbrio pleno, pelo estado estacionário em todos os níveis, sejam eles físicos, mentais ou sociais.
O tecido conjuntivo, composto de células móveis do sistema
imunológico (mastócitos, granulócitos, linfócitos, plasmócitos,
macrófagos), de células fixas (fibroblastos, fibrócitos, histiócitos),
proteoglicanos e da substância base — um líquido homogêneo coloidal,
cujo estado é influenciado principalmente pelo equilíbrio ácido basal, e
também chamado de líquido extracelular —, envolve todas as demais
células.
Vasos capilares, vasos linfáticos e nervos — todos eles terminam no tecido conjuntivo e não têm contato direto algum com as células orgânicas. Isso significa que todas as substâncias destinadas a essas células e todas as substâncias provenientes de lá devem atravessar o tecido conjuntivo. E isso é essencial para permitir que sua diabetes tem cura. O livro "Diabetes - um Caminho à Cura" traz mais informações a esse respeito.
Manter o tecido conjuntivo em bom estado não é tão difícil. É ali que todo aquele “lixo tóxico” não expelido nem pela corrente sanguínea nem pelo sistema linfático se acumula. Esse “lixo” são principalmente os mais diversos ácidos, que causam as mais diversas complicações do diabetes (doenças cardíacas, pé diabético, retinopatia diabética etc.)
Basta, portanto, neutralizá-los e o tecido conjuntivo fica equilibrado. É por esse tecido que a insulina deve viajar para levar a glicose do sangue às células do seu corpo. Se esse caminho estiver obstruído, o resultado é bastante simples e lógico: altos níveis de glicose no sangue.
Ácidos podem ser neutralizados por bases. Basta fornecer as bases em quantidade suficiente, e a neutralização ocorre. Esses produtos podem ser eliminados pelos sistemas sanguíneo e linfático de seu organismo.
Como melhorar a qualidade do tecido conjuntivo
Muito simples. O “lixo” se acumula em parte por produtos normais de
seu metabolismo. Em boa parte, os ácidos são produzidos pelos produtos
que fornecemos aos sistema – os alimentos.
A qualidade de seu alimento define, portanto, a qualidade do tecido conjuntivo, o equilíbrio ácido-basal, e com isso a qualidade da sua vida e de sua saúde. Poucos ácidos, boa saúde sem diabetes e outras enfermidades de nossa civilização; muitos ácidos, diversas doenças, entre elas a diabetes.
Você pode ver facilmente – diabetes e diabetes tipo 2 tem cura. E ela não procede do tratamento dos sintomas da diabetes, mas sim da qualidade dos alimentos que você ingere ao longo de sua vida.
Medicamentos por vezes são necessários (por exemplo: em um estado em que sua vida corre risco imediato), mas via de regra apenas aumentam o “lixo” metabólico, “envenenando” o seu organismo lentamente, tratando alguns sintomas de sua doença.
